BI Solution Architect - NHS, Healthcare


A leading provider of health data analytics solutions is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative BI Solution Architect to join a small team.


Required Skills:


  • Specifying and designing interdepartmental or cross organisation data warehouses
  • T-SQL and SSIS development
- .NET programming in VB or C#

  • Presentation and visualisation skills
  • Ability to reverse engineer a data model from a live system
  • Fluent in tools and techniques for modelling and communicating processes and data flows
  • Creation of outline physical designs for data warehouses targeting a relational DBMS ideally SQL Server
  • Dimensional analysis and modelling
  • Complex modelling issues such as temporal stability and divergent coding of data

Responsibilities:


  • Liaise with health business transformation consultants to capture requirements from stakeholders and system sponsors
  • Produce and communicate logical and conceptual health models of key business processes and data flows using use case, process diagrams or other appropriate visualisation tools
  • Assess data availability, suitability and quality
  • Help identify possible transformation initiatives. Assist with repackaging such initiatives for use with other clients
  • Producing logical and outline physical designs for target data warehouses
  • Specify transformation, linking and data recoding rules
  • Provide data structures that can be synchronised with data integrity maintained
  • Identifying key project risks and work with the project manager to mitigate these
  • Communicating solution requirements to other technical consultants and system builders
  • Assist with creating a business data glossary and other key user documentation
  • Formulate plans for, and help manage, system testing and user acceptance testing

Desirable Skills:


  • Knowledge of a variety of BI tools such as Qlikview, Business Objects, IBM Cognos, Microsoft Power BI/SSAS, Tableau
  • Process and data modelling in acute healthcare
  • Message based and enterprise service bus technologies including HL7 and FHIR
  • Statistical process improvement/Six Sigma/CMMI/Lean
  • Simulation and numerical modelling techniques and software such as Simul
  • Development of test data
  • Machine Learning and AI
  • Scrum/Agile, ISO 27001 and ITIL


The BI Solution Architect role offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the software that consultants and customers use to make real differences to people's lives.

The role will be a hybrid split between home and office working depending on your preferences and circumstances. Travel within the UK to client sites will often be required.
