Job Description Summary


We are recruiting for an adaptable, innovative and highly motivated colleague to join our Trade Sales team within Specialist Client Solutions ("SCS") supporting clients across SME & Mid Corporates ("SMC").

Within Trade Sales, our role is to support clients with working capital and risk management needs, using products such as Trade Finance, Letters of Credit, Collections, Bonds, Guarantees and Indemnities.


Job Description:


As an Associate Director, you will be expected to deliver holistic working capital solutions to clients, whilst driving performance to deliver income and asset growth in line with agreed business plans.


You will also be required to work collaboratively with key stakeholders in the Region, including other product specialist within SCS and the SMC Coverage teams.

Specialist product knowledge will be advantageous for this role. There is great opportunity for personal development within the role, and you will receive full support for career development.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in defining sales strategy and business plans for their region, working closely with key stakeholders including Coverage, colleagues in SCS, and professional networks across the region.
  • Identify customer needs to develop and structure Trade solutions to meet customer's working capital and risk management requirements.
  • Act as product specialist lead for relationships within the portfolio of existing and target clients.
  • Recognise and develop opportunities to expand client relationships using appropriate Trade solutions.
  • Work alongside Coverage and other product specialists across SCS to deliver regional Business Development plans, delivering new to bank opportunities.
  • Act as client point of contact for all transactions for Trade, with the ability to discuss technical and operational aspects of transactions.
  • Deliver income and lending growth in line with team business plans, through delivering appropriate solutions to meet client needs.
  • Actively manage risk, across the portfolio and on new transactions, and maintain high standards of adherence to all risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements to protect and enhance the banks reputation.
Key Capabilities / Knowledge

  • Technical knowledge and understanding of Trade products and solutions.
  • Experience at managing, originating and selling to Trade relationships.
  • Demonstrate success in Trade Sales and Business Development.
  • Knowledge of risk profile and regulatory treatment of Trade and associated risk and portfolio management practices.

  • Strong financial acumen, knowledge of budgets, economic return principles and capital treatment
  • Sound commercial, technical and risk based decisionmaking capability, within delegated authority or with referral to appropriate partners.
  • Post graduate economic, finance and or management qualifications (desirable).
