Overview of Responsibilities:


Who are we looking for?
The Central Engineering department is currently seeking a Technical Configuration Controller to join their team of Engineers.

Part of your role is to support the development and implementation of technical configuration management processes and tools and to lead and provide technical configuration support' to the UKAEA programme and project areas as required.


You will be assigned to several projects and expected to act as a team player in a shared workload environment.

As a Configuration Controller will be responsible for all documentation/data including RFD/RFW's created or delivered to the Project, in collaboration with the Project Team and the Configuration Manager.

You will be accountable for leading users in the general use of the UKAEA Technical Document Management System 'TDMS' whilst supporting users in the development of configuration management plans and subsequent implementation.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Using the UKAEA PLM SmarTeam system for generating Configurable Items and Design Solutions
  • Leading users in the development of Configuration Identification to ensure products and systems are broken down in an appropriate manner
  • Establishing, author, and manage UKAEA product configuration structures
  • Contributing and support the configuration team in general configuration management activities
  • Creating PLM placeholders for the technical product documents required to define each configurable item within both functional and product structures to enable tracking of product and project maturity
  • Salary
£49,396 to £52,293 (inclusive of MPP) + excellent benefits including outstanding pension- Programme

Qualifications:


Essential criteria

  • Appropriate technical qualifications. (Degree or equivalent applied experience.)
  • Significant experience working with complex industrial or manufacturing facilities and plant
  • Fluent in written and spoken English language

Desirable skills

  • Experience and knowledge of using CAD packages in particular CATIA (3D CAD) design software would be advantageous.
  • Experience in Quality Management processes and information and records management principles.
  • Experience or knowledge of Systems Engineering.
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplined research environment.
  • Experience of implementing and administering Change Management Process Experience and/or training in CMII principles.
  • CMII certification
