Description

Our client a leading firm of Chartered Accountants are seeking an Accountant to join their growing team in their specialist Theatre Department in the West End, London.

The role will involve dealing with a portfolio of clients within the theatre, music and film industry and duties will include the following:

Preparation of statutory accounts
Preparation of weekly payroll journals in a fast paced environment as per client instructions and sector specific rules.
Overview of weekly bank reconciliation, purchase ledger and payment management, petty cash allocations.
Sales contra preparation per sector specific rules.
Weekly production accounts with reconciliation of all control accounts, prepayments and accruals detailed analysis.
Drafting cyclical statements (royalties, merchandise royalties, profit distributions) and reconciling these against the control accounts timely communication of payments with stakeholders. Consider any potential tax implications on payments per sectorspecific rules.
Preparation of VAT returns with sector specific adjustments.
Quarterly preparation and remittance of CT61 and FEU forms for withholding and payroll taxes.
Adhoc analysis/reporting as per client requirements.
Preparation of year end accounts trial balances and working papers.
Preparation of corporation tax computations including theatre tax credit claims.
Travelling to the firms other offices and client premises as and when required.

You will ideally be working towards or hold a relevant qualification such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA or be QBE, as well as having previous practice experience, with a knowledge of specialist production accounting and theatre tax credits, although this is not essential.

Study support will also be considered if required.

A good understanding of Sage Line 50 and Excel would also be an advantage.
