Based in Northamptonshire, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team has more than 800 passionate people at its heart, making a team with both a rich heritage and a fresh perspective – bringing new energy to the sport with a determination to shake up the order and compete at the sharp end.

The Aston Martin era represents a journey for us, but the racer's attitude and can-do approach remain central pillars in the team's philosophy. The focus is always on improving performance and delivering results. With fresh investment and energy, the stage is set to build on Aston Martin's rich history in motorsport and establish Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team as a competitive force in the years ahead.

To succeed on this mission, the team is looking for talented individuals who share our passion for racing and hunger for competition. It's a stimulating and rewarding place to work, with pure racing at the core of everything we do. We are building for a strong future and every member of the team will play an important role in our success.

We are a brave and united team who value authenticity, honesty, and are never afraid to question conventions. We embrace these values in ways that reflect our modern world. If you share our racer's spirit and want to contribute to the next chapter in Aston Martin's glorious history, please apply and join one of the most exciting projects in Formula One.

We have a new opportunity for a talented and motivated R&D Gearbox Test Engineer to join our team. In 2026 we will become a works team and will be designing, manufacturing and developing our own gearbox and support systems. Delivering a state-of-the-art gearbox test facility will be a critical part of that journey and this role is central to that objective, testing and developing not only our prototype gearboxes but the transition to production race gearbox sign-off.

In this role you will be required to:

    • Carry out validation of prototype and race gearboxes, reporting data and keeping all appropriate records of tests done
    • Work to the highest standards and in accordance with the specifications, to ensure delivery, performance and reliability targets are met efficiently and on time
    • Maintain a safe, efficient, and professional working environment at all times
    • Collaborate with production & build to understand test and delivery schedules
    • Communicate outcomes back to the wider team through clear and concise reporting
    • To attend meetings as required
    • Follow and understand gearbox operation on car and engage with design and controls on reliability or performance projects
    • Identify improvement opportunities in test equipment, test methods and data analysis with a particular emphasis on cost and time efficiency
    • Develop techniques to better understand gearbox behaviour, to improve our knowledge, simulation techniques, component reliability and ultimately the performance of our racing car

    Essential Skills & Knowledge Required:

    • Have a high quality degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Motorsport Engineering
    • An enthusiasm for test data analysis and component validation
    • Demonstrate honesty, inclusion and collaboration with fellow team members

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in a relevant gearbox role either in motorsport or another high performance industry. However, applications for a junior position will be considered for recent graduates who can demonstrate academic excellence and a high level of extra-curricular commitment. We are of the opinion that experience can be gained but enthusiasm and attitude are of greatest importance.
