    Full time, 37 hours per week

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Authority's finances. The role will report to the Director of Finance and deputise for them as the Section 17 officer as laid out in the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads Act 1988. This is the equivalent of a Local Authority Section 151 Chief Financial Officer.

    The role will work closely with the Director of Finance and will initially be involved in the implementation of a new Finance system. The role will be responsible for the management of the Finance team, investigating variances in the monthly management accounts, preparing the Statement of Accounts and working with internal and external audits.

    Applicants should be qualified CCAB accountant or nearing completion with three years' experience in in public sector finances. The Authority would look to support the successful candidate in completing their qualification. We are looking for a proactive person who is a problem solver, works well in a team and has good communication skills via a number of platforms.

    The role will be a mixture of office and home-based. However, while the candidate is new to the role they will be initially office-based. Subject to the candidate successfully completing tasks, the role will be split between home and the office. This will be subject to a trial period.
