    Overview:
    We are seeking a dedicated Food Technician to join our dynamic staff at a well-regarded secondary school in Milton Keynes. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food technology and has a keen interest in supporting the educational development of young people within a vibrant school environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the preparation of food and resources for practical lessons, ensuring all ingredients and materials are available as needed.
    • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment in the food technology rooms.
    • Manage the storage of food items and equipment, ensuring that hygiene and safety regulations are strictly followed.
    • Support teachers during lessons by preparing materials, demonstrating techniques, and managing student behavior.
    • Carry out regular checks and maintenance of equipment to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose.
    • Order and stock manage supplies and ingredients, keeping careful records of expenditures.
    • Facilitate a supportive and creative learning environment for students.
    • Assist with the implementation of school policies and health and safety protocols.

    Essential Qualifications & Experience:

    • Minimum of 6 months experience in UK education settings.
    • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene (Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred).
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • A proactive approach and ability to anticipate needs and plan accordingly.
    • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo checks.

    Desirable Qualities:

    • Prior experience as a Food Technician or similar role.
    • A passion for education and the culinary arts.
    • Technical proficiency and experience with kitchen equipment.
