An exciting vacancy has arisen within Research and Innovation for a research data clerk to support the activities of the wider research teams across all divisions and specialties.

This post will undertake research data entry and associated administration tasks to support the work of a team of the clinical research team.

The appointee will become an integral part of the team of clinical research delivery staff, in order to provide a flexible, agile group of staff across the emergency medicine and critical care portfolio at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

This will allow the Research & Innovation Department to maximise research opportunities in the face of a rapidly evolving and changeable clinical research landscape.

Main duties include administrative tasks and data entry to support the wider research teams.

They will also be required to liaise with external sponsors and to respond to data queries, providing a close focus on data quality and consistency.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This post will undertake a range of administrative and data entry activities.

The work is supportive of the work of the wider research team and includes uploading research documentation to Digital Health Records, booking patient appointments, dealing with research sponsors and taking calls and queries from research participants.

The post will also undertake a range of research data entry and query resolution activities to support the team's research activity.

The post holder will have responsibility for their own portfolio of observational studies and will collect and enter data as well as liaise with research sponsors to ensure that these studies are delivered to a high standard.

Essential criteria

  • Educated to a minimum GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Typing or word processing qualification (minimum of of RSA 2)
  • Competent in Microsoft Word
Desirable criteria

  • Hospital IT systems training
