    We are currently looking for a Technical Manager - Electric Vehicles and Emissions for our client, a company supporting and promoting the interests of the UK automotive industry at home. The successful candidate will lead as a technical specialist for electrified vehicles, powertrains, noise and fuels on regulations, standards, government policy and strategy in all relevant technical areas for the UK automotive industry.

    The Technical Manager - Electric Vehicles and Emissions will:

    • the secretariat to the relevant Committees/Working Groups. Pro-actively manage their agendas, papers and activities and deliver key actions arising, working with committee/working group members, colleagues, government, and other stakeholders.
    • and consult with member companies, government and key stakeholder on all relevant subjects and documents, to solicit member input to create an evidence base and draft influential proposals, positions, responses, papers, and presentations as required.
    • succinct and clear briefing papers, slides, and materials for senior management.
    • with technical and legislative enquiries from industry, the public, and outside organisations in a professional manner.
    • regular technical information/circulars, briefing and support for members, colleagues and relevant committees and trade sections as required.

    The Technical Manager - Electric Vehicles and Emissions will have:

    • engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification and/or experience.
    • to interpret, provide guidance on requirements and shape regulatory content, policy, and strategy.
    • professional experience in automotive industry or relevant government departments, agencies, or sister industries.
    • to multi-task, respond flexibly to needs of business, and organise work effectively on different projects and issues, follow and deliver on internal processes and timelines.
    • project management and organisational skills.
