We are the first IAPT service to have a Wellbeing Bus, where we hold treatment & assessment clinics in our area, provide joint working with physical health colleagues and engage with service promotion in the community.

We are looking for a highly organized and motivated individual who holds the PWP qualification to be employed as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (Adults).

It is imperative that you can provide evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem and are able to demonstrate an understanding of how anxiety and depression present in Primary Care.

You should have a real interest in helping people with anxiety and depression to achieve a level of recovery which will improve their overall wellbeing and day to day life.

You will hold professional Registration/Accreditation with either the BPS or BACAP, or are working towards this.

This role involves assessment and treatment in both telephone & face to face settings. We also provide treatment in groups settings (currently online). Regular clinical and caseload management supervision is provided, including Long Term Health Conditions & Neurodiversity. The service has a strong commitment towards continuing professional development (CPD) programme including relevant clinical and service issues.


The Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Wellbeing Service is a creative organisation which embraces staff ideas to constantly seek ways of taking the service forward to adapt to changing expectations.


We have strong links with academic institutions with staff from the service teaching university courses devised in conjunction with MPFT.


Our staff lead professional development sessions locally and nationally and you will be actively encouraged to develop your practice through internal and external CPD opportunities.

Job Purpose


The post-holder will work within the Seisdon Wellbeing Team (IAPT service), Codsall, providing high volume low intensity interventions which will be a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions to service to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities

Responsibilities:


  • CLINICAL
  • Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service and develop programmes of care packages.
  • Assess and supports people with a common mental health problem in the selfmanagement of their recovery.
  • Undertakes patientcentred interviews which identifies areas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery and makes an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
  • Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department's referral protocols, refers unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary or stepsup the person's treatment to high intensity psychological therapy.
  • Provide a range of information and support for evidence based highvolume lowintensity psychological treatments. This may include guided selfhelp computerised CBT, information about pharmacological treatments. This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media.
  • Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary.
  • Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the overall number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
  • Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.
  • Keep coherent records of all clinical activ
