Overview of the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Calibration & Controls Engineer to join the Electronics and Controls team at JCB Transmissions in North Wales.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be involved with developing transmission control systems for JCB's own gearboxes.

Your Responsibilities as an Electronics & Controls Engineer:

Working as an engineer in the transmission C&C team you will:

· Transmission calibration, testing and control system development.

· Fault insertion testing in vehicle and on test rigs.

· Development of diagnostic and setup tools.

· Fault finding and service and warranty support.

· Practical fault insertion testing on rigs and in vehicles.

· Debug and fault find issues on vehicle and in the test environment.

About you:

The role is open to both experienced engineers and engineers at the start of their career.

Educated to Degree level or relevant experience accompanied by an HND/C in Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM qualification.

A good understanding of automotive electrics / electronics fundamentals (ECU, sensor, actuators, CAN bus communication and diagnostics)

Experience of the following would be beneficial but not essential:

· Vector tools such as Canalyzer, Canoe and Canape.

· PICO Scope

· Automotive or Off highway electrical systems

· Off highway drivelines such as powershift gearboxes

· Transmission control systems
