    OMEXOM is a brand through which VINCI Energies undertakes its Transmission & Distribution activities.

    OMEXOM specialise in the design, supply, installation, maintenance and commissioning of electrical infrastructures for a varied range of electricity utility companies and renewable energy developers throughout the UK and Ireland.

    Due to continued growth, we now require a suitably qualified Project Manager with outstanding leadership, communication and project management skills to work on projects for one of our main clients in Scotland.

    The successful candidate will have a track record of project delivery with a focus on Transmission Overhead Lines along with demonstrable experience in developing diverse teams.

    The RoleDue to growth, a Senior Design Engineer is required by Omexom UK Transmission overhead line Business Unit.

    The requirement is to support the operational teams during both tender and implementation stages of projects with a wide range of transmission overhead line design activities, and to develop and lead an 'in-house' design capability that can provide design services to UK DNOs and TSOs.

    A significant part of the role will be to support the Business Units strategic plan in developing business with new and existing customers, in both a support role for construction projects and as a lead manager for design services.

    Skills ProfileAbility to take responsibility for all design elements of new build and refurbishment of overhead transmission lines in the UKAbility to develop the Omexom overhead line design capability to provide services to the DNO and TSO markets Preferable BSc/BEng in Structural or Civil Engineering with 15 Years OHL design and construction industry experience.

    Must have a detailed understanding of the latest OHL design practices, standards and analysis software systems.

    Must have suitable site experience / understanding, which should include foundation setting out and construction, structure assembly and erection, conductor erection and temporary works.


    Responsibilities:

    To assist the Design Manager with appointing and provide training where necessary and manage design staff in an efficient manner.

    Business development with DNOs and TSOs, including prospecting, tendering and delivering design services.
    The management of all design elements within tender and construction phases of construction contracts.
    Representing Omexom UK within the global Omexom engineering network/clubs Review and cascading of current industry standards.
    Promote Safety, Health and Environmental awareness of all design staff.

    • Ensure the quality of ALL design submissions.

    The promotion and enforcement of company procedures to design staff The review of method statements/risk assessments ensuring compliance with Design Documents The development and implementation of new industry software where applicable.
