Sub Contract Manager - National Role (based in Derby)

Location:
Rolls Royce, Derby, Derbyshire


Salary:
up to £50k

Reporting directly to the Operations Director with a competitive remuneration package and company vehicle.

Job Objectives and Responsibilities:


The post holder will seek to re-define the centralised management and audit of the large volume of maintenance-based sub-contractors across the estate portfolio in accordance with the Integrated Management System.

Working closely with internal stakeholderswithin QHSE, the Operational Management Team and Procurement, the Sub Contractor Manager will look to ensure that all contractors engaged are compliant, working safely and providing an expert and quality service.


Operational:


There will be extensive links with the client procedures around Control Standards and Contractor Supervision at site level and as such, the role will have a large dependency on the site-based teams who are monitoring activity and confirming compliance on aday-to-day basis.


QSHE:


There will be an ongoing and strong link with our QSHE team at site and management level to ensure full compliance to their own and the client's procedures and policies.


Projects:


The role will liaise with projects where there is a need for the specification and management of a sub-contractor provision within the project scope extending to the input into project workbooks and start up/ongoing meetings throughout the project lifecycle.


Compliance:


The role will work very closely with the Technical Compliance Team to ensure that all contracted provision meets the standards of the internal governance.


Procurement:


There will be ongoing consultation with the wider procurement team to analyse the financial, commercial, compliance and quality elements of the contract delivery in order to optimise the services engaged.


Management Data and Reporting:

Person Specification:


The role is ideally suited to a technically experienced individual, preferably with a good understanding of engineering plant and processing environments and qualified/working towards to NEBOSH Certificate equivalent or above.


  • The ability to fully review and assess RAMS, SSOW and communicate and changes required is key to the success of the role as is an understanding of the technical competencies and associated bodies that operate within the FM Industry. A willingness to engagewith contractors to ensure they operate to the Live Safe rules as well as the Client requirement is of paramount importance.
  • An excellent grasp of English, both spoken and written, is a must as is the ability to review, analyse and prepare formal reporting and fully utilise the electronic systems (QSHE, CAFM, BI).
  • Diplomatic and personable, the post holder will fully engage in collaborative culture and have a keen desire to seek and define continuous improvement.
  • The requirement to specify and lead formal auditing and stakeholder meetings in line with the policies and procedures is critical to confirming the performance of our sub contracted services.
  • The post holder must be able to work autonomously and selfdirect in accordance with the changing needs of the business. At times the role will demand extensive travel and operating to tight deadlines. Experience in managing indirect reports is desirabledue to the nature of the role.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting
  • Adhere to the LiveSafe rules
  • Stop any unsafe activities.
  • Provide feedback to the operational staff on any contractors that have any H&S issues.

Information Security:

  • Ensure compliance with information security procedures in all activities
  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager
  • Report actual and suspected security incidents
