Electronics Technical Writer (Full time but may suit part-time)
Location Cambridge UK (but possible to work from home)
Do you have a genuine interest in electronics, a passion for writing to a highly technical audience, and a desire to learn about new technologies?
Our client XJTAG are looking for a talented individual to join their team and take their marketing to a new level - creating video scripts, web page content, articles and blog posts to educate electronics engineers and their managers about the benefits of the technology our products use.
You will be someone who can work with their technical staff to identify and develop topics to cover, explores relevant industry articles, and thrives on communicating the essence in a clear and inspiring way.
The role will offer you the chance to work on a wide variety of projects - writing scripts for technical Help videos and promotional marketing videos, user guides, blog content, press releases, product brochures, social media, etc.
You will have 2+ years of work experience in the Electronics industry and preferably a good degree in Engineering/Electronics/Science from a leading university.
This is a challenging role, and to excel you will need to have a passion for both technology and writing, demonstrated through relevant experience.
Required skills:
- Proven experience with writing for technical audiences, such as engineers (or scientists)
- Ability to learn and explain electronics concepts and procedures in plain English
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Highly organized; able to handle and prioritise multiple concurrent projects
- Selfmotivated, proactive; committed team player with an easygoing, flexible personality
- Openness to receiving editorial feedback
Pluses:
- Familiarity with the stages of any of the electronics design / prototyping / testing or manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with the JTAG interface
- Basic understanding of the concepts of objectorientated programming
