    As the Accounting Supervisor you will work in our Wakefield, MA headquarters location , report to the Assistant Controller, and will supervise two accounts payable and two accounts receivable staff .

    Performance Objectives :

    • Within the first 30 days , you will gain an understanding of the department procedures, systems, and policies ; how the accounting department operates ; and become familiar with the other departments, our brokers , suppliers, and employees from other subsidiaries .
    • Within the first 60 days, you will take on direct responsibility for the Accounts Receivable staff, become familiar with the dataflow from our policy administration system to PeopleSoft and how this process impacts our accounts receivables and payables, and oversee the monthly closing of the accounts receivables and payables modules within PeopleSoft, adhering to the corporate closing schedule.
    • Within the first 90 days , you will take on direct responsibility for the Accounts Payable staff; review and approve operating invoices, vouchers, new suppliers and changes to existing suppliers; learn the workflows for our operating payables approval system and our travel and expense reporting process; review accounts receivable and accounts payable aging reports for unusual trends and evaluat e older items ; and assist in monitoring fiduciary cash balances and transfers between such accounts .

    Your Skills and Experience :

    • Six years of relevant and progressive accounting experience
    • A bachelor's degree in a ccounting , Finance or a related field , or the equivalent education and/or experienc e
    • Two years of insurance related experience preferred
    • T hree years of supervisory experience
    • Experience using PeopleSoft financial systems preferred
    • Intermediate proficiency and e xperience using Microsoft Office Suite
