Service Engineer (Trainee Technician)

Salary:
£29, £33,000.00 per annum dependant on experience, plus Veolia benefits

Location:
Mobile role covering the Greater Manchester area

Hours: 43 hours per week, normal hours are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm

What will you be doing?


As a Service Engineer, you will work within a local Operations team which covers a selection of sites within the Greater Manchester area, where you will be responsible for carrying out on-site operation and maintenance support on a range of industrial utilitiesequipment within primarily a Steam Generation environment with Package Steam Boilers.

Working on a day's basis and being on a standby 1 in 5 week call out rota.


Tasks will be set around an individual's skillset and within this role it is envisaged you will work to a development plan as a trainee Technician to develop your Engineering skillset and experience to progress to Technician status in the future.

**Tasks undertaken will be such as: - **- Carry out and support Technicians with planned and reactive maintenance on the Steam Boiler and Utilities plant

  • Complete routine Steam Boiler operational tasks to comply with legislation and company procedures.
  • Effective completion of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities on a range of Mechanical and/or Electrical systems including Boiler, Pumps, and other ancillary equipment.
  • Tasks will be set around an individual's skillset and within this role it is
  • Responsible for the maintenance and publication of plant quality records and reports and implementing Safe Systems of Work:
to include production of Permit to Work, Risk assessments and Method Statements in accordance with company procedures.


What are we looking for?

  • Hold an engineering background within the Engineering & Maintenance industry or equivalent with transferable skills.
  • Experience of working to health and safety requirements.
  • Full Driving licence
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering training to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance or transferable Engineering skills & experience

Desirable

  • You will be customer focussed with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have an engineering time served apprenticeship qualification and ONC or equivalent experience in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ability to undertake further training to understand Plant Process and Optimal Operating conditions to enable Plant Fault Diagnosis.
  • Ability to undertake further training to develop into a multiskilled Engineering TechnicianYou will ideally have a range of the below competencies.
  • Ability to obtain knowledge of Steam Boiler plant to aid operations, maintenance and fault finding on plant
  • You will have experience of utilising Health & Safety documentation such as Method Statement / Risk Assessments for tasks
