We are looking for a Research Associate / Fellow in Optical Metrology to join our friendly and inclusive team, within Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Nottingham.

Our team is world leading in metrology, advanced manufacturing, robotics, digitalization, and factory automation. As part of the research team, the successful candidate will contribute to the Made Smarter Innovation - Research Centre for Connected Factories. The "Connected Factories" Made Smarter Centre aims to deliver a platform for next generation resilient connected manufacturing services. It will allow future manufacturing operations to be delivered by ubiquitous production units that can be easily repurposed, relocated and redeployed in response to changing market demand.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to in-process metrology; by using integrated metrology and real-time process monitoring the project aims to detect process non-conformance/anomalies with respect to standard operating instructions.

This post is available immediately and offered on a fixed-term, part-time contract for 6 months or until 31 March 2025, whichever comes first. Hours of work are 12–20 hours per week. Please specify in your covering letter the preferred number of hours.
