    Description

We are looking for a Research Associate / Fellow in Optical Metrology to join our friendly and inclusive team, within Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Nottingham.

Our team is world leading in metrology, advanced manufacturing, robotics, digitalization, and factory automation. As part of the research team, the successful candidate will contribute to the Made Smarter Innovation - Research Centre for Connected Factories. At the University of Nottingham, we are always pushing boundaries with our innovation. We believe that our people are the key to our success. We also understand that some candidates are reluctant to apply unless they tick every box of the criteria stated on an advert. However, providing you have PhD (or near completion), if you do not tick every box but feel you have what it takes to be successful in this role, we would encourage you to make an application.

This post is available immediately and offered on a fixed-term, part-time contract for 6 months or until 31 March 2025, whichever comes first. Hours of work are 12–20 hours per week. Please specify in your covering letter the preferred number of hours.

Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.

In the covering letter, candidates should also briefly describe how they meet the person specification included in the role profile.
