    Shooting Star Children's Hospices is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of People and Culture to join our People Team. This senior leadership role is pivotal in supporting the Director of People and Culture to deliver a strategic people agenda that aligns with our mission to support life-limited children and their families.

    About the Role

    As the Head of People and Culture, you will be instrumental in shaping and developing our organisational capabilities. Your role will include strategic HR planning, managing performance, overseeing recruitment and retention, and leading learning and development initiatives. You will provide expert advice on complex HR issues, ensuring compliance with our business plan, legislation, and regulatory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the People Strategy in line with organisational objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction across HR operations, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and mentor the People Partner, Learning and Development, and Employee Wellbeing Manager.
  • Oversee the HR budget, ensuring alignment with organisational financial objectives.
  • Champion initiatives that foster an inclusive workplace and support organisational change.
  • Requirements

  • Level 7 CIPD qualification or equivalent; Fellow of CIPD preferred.
  • Proven senior-level HR experience within healthcare and charity sectors.
  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills, with an ability to influence at all levels.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence & car essential for regular travel.
