The post holder is responsible for:
- Supporting with the delivery of the Information Governance (IG) agenda, across the organisation
- Raising awareness of Information Governance and providing educational and specialist IG support to all departments
Responsibilities
- Along with the Risk and Information Governance (IG) Team, responsible for the delivery of specialist Information Governance advice, to enable compliance with Information Rights Law; including the GDPR, implemented by the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000
- Works with the Risk and IG Manager on the organisation's Information Governance programme, including delivery of the requirements of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit
- Works with the Risk & IG Lead on the day to day management of formal information access requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI requests)
- Supports the Risk and IG Lead on the management of the investigation process into potential and actual data breach incidents
- Supports the DPC and Risk & IG Lead with administrative aspects of the Data Protection Impact Assessment process, including liaising with internal/external stakeholders
- Assists HR in the timely management of Subject Access Requests (SARS), ensuring that they are monitored for adherence to legal timeframes
- Supports the Risk & IG Lead and DPC with ensuring data protection compliance across the organisation through IG auditing of internal departments/stakeholders
- Supports the Risk and IG Team with management and responses to incoming issues and requests to data protection inboxes
- Coordinates and provides administrative support within the Risk & IG Team to ensure delivery of the IG agenda across the organisation, including compiling and drafting reports on IG outcomes
- Develops and maintains key working relationships across all areas of the business and external clients and suppliers in relation to the information governance agenda
- Responsible for planning and minute taking for monthly DPIA meetings, quarterly IG Committee, and biannual ISMS meeting; developing the agenda and completing and circulating meeting minutes
- Maintains the IG homepages on the intranet, ensuring content is up to date
- Provides contributions for information governance as appropriate for the monthly corporate newsletter
Accountabilities
- As part of the Risk & IG; providing advice and guidance to the organisation on Information Governance
- Assisting the team with managing, reviewing, assessing and responding to Data Subject Requests
- Providing administrative support within the Risk & IG Team to ensure delivery of the IG agenda across the organisation, including producing IG reports as required, minute taking and collating meeting packs
- Assisting the Risk & IG Lead with the management of potential and actual data breach incidents, including highlighting and escalating to highrisk incidents within the IG Team
