    We havean exciting opportunity for a Deputy Business Advisor in our OperationalBusiness Support (Financial Management) team. You will support the delivery ofour monthly management accounts across three non-Clinical Divisions. You will be a key part of the financeteam providing financial stewardship to the organisation and supporting the achievementof the finance team vision.

    This vital role is responsiblefor providing a comprehensive and high quality financial and business supportservice to the Corporate, Digital and Estates & Facilities Divisions, inaccordance with agreed timescales and professional standards.

    The post holder plays a crucialrole providing expert financial advice and training to a range of Managerswithin the Divisions. You will work closely with the leadership teams acrossthe Divisions to ensure the consistent achievement of financial performance andoutcome targets that supports the delivery of high-quality patient care.

    Main duties of the job

    -Supportthe Business Advisor in providing a robust financial planning and reportingservice to a Division including month end closedown, financial forecasting andrisk assessment.

    -Managea small team of staff to ensure priorities are delivered to expected standardsand timescales, and that staff receive both regular appraisals and developmentopportunities.

    Communicateeffectively and build positive working relationships with staff from a wide varietyof backgrounds and professions.

    Deputisefor the Business Advisor as required, including representation at a number ofsenior forums.

    You will be a qualified accountant, proficient in the use of a wide rangeof IT systems including financial ledger and will be able to work withnon-finance staff to present complex financial information in ways which willensure engagement and understanding.

    Job responsibilities

    Key Duties :

    Financial Planning and Reporting

    Supports the Business Advisor (Corporate / E&F/ Digital) in providing financial support to the Division and Service Lines.

    Co-ordinates and manages the process of annualbudget setting for Division working within an agreed corporate framework.

    Support the Business Advisor (Corporate / E&F /Digital) in monitoring and reporting upon potential financial risks and riskminimisation strategies.

    Monitor and forecast expenditure trends/budgetaryperformance on a monthly basis, identifying variances & service issues formanagers & advising them appropriately.

    Develops and maintains systems to monitor andupdate Division and Service Line financial plans and advise them on correctiveactions where necessary.

    Provide information on a monthly basis tocontribute to corporate financial reports.

    Supports the Business advisor (Corporate / E&F/ Digital) and Divisional Directors and Managers in the identification ofefficiency savings and provides a monthly schedule of progress against agreedtargets.

    General Duties :

    Deputise for the Business Advisor in theirabsence.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Minimum 5 O Levels/GCSEs or equivalent (including Maths and English.
  • CCAB qualifications or CIMA.
  • Committed to Continuing Professional Development.
  • Desirable

  • Graduate
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Management accounting experience or equivalent
  • Desirable

  • Acute Sector Experience.
  • Senior level experience in the NHS finance sector.
  • Knowledge and Skills

  • Expert user of Financial Systems.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with a wide range of individuals.
  • Highly numerate and analytical.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
