    Your Role and Responsibilities


    The Development team at IBM Hursley are seeking a specialist to join us in our mission to deliver industry-leading storage systems.

    For over ten years the UK team has delivered highly successful products for our customers, developing high-performing and resilient software and hardware that keeps business-critical systems and data available 24/7 around the world.


    We are looking for passionate problem-solvers with a thorough technical grounding to help us develop solutions to meet our customers' ever-changing needs for storing and managing data across multiple IBM hardware platforms.


    Our main development hub is at the unique IBM Hursley site, where many teams of developers work in small, self-directed squads and we also work closely with IBM colleagues in our global development community.


    This combined role will require you to work on projects managed by multiple IBM Systems Storage teams "FlashSystem, Flash, and DS8K".


    As a Printer Circuit Board (PCB) Layout Engineer, you would be responsible for working with Schematic Designers to take the output of the EDA tools to create or update circuit boards for Storage products.

    This involves board sizing, component placement, PCB Stack design (power and ground planes and EMI performance), trace routing, via positions, line impedance matching and the delivery of a Board files and Gerber files which a PCB manufacturer can use to deliver completed boards.


    As an EC writer, you would receive change information from Technical Project Managers about the FlashSystem storage products (hardware, software, documentation, and process) and write instructions for manufacturing and supply chain systems on the changes and the methods to implement the changes.

    The role also required the use of tools like Enovia and MMWEB and the storage of electronic deliverables.

    The anticipated compensation range, if hired into a US work location is $132,000 to $199,000 based on working a full-time schedule from a US work location.

    Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately.

    Required Technical and Professional Expertise

    Experience in PCB Layout Design

    Expert using EDA tools (Cadence IBMEDA Synopsys)

    Experience of the Engineering Change process for IBM Manufacturing.

    Expert using EC Tools (Enovla, MMWEB, PIM)
