    We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Lewes, a category B Prison located in near the centre of the historical town of Lewes, which is just a 5 minute walk away

    Due to HMP Lewes holding remand prisoners, we do require staff to work on a rota basis and you can be asked to work nights, bank holidays and weekends although if you are looking for flexibility we can discuss this at interview stage. How will we support you?

    Main duties of the job

    As a Pharmacy Technician in the Medicines Management team, you will

  • Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
  • You will be required to work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact, which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison services needs.
  • You will be an integral member of the Medicines Management team, which forms part of the wider cluster of Healthcare Services. Practice Plus Group policies and procedures and statutory frameworks governing patient care in a prison setting, will be used in order to deliver the highest standard of care to clients in line with National Guidelines.

    You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC) to be considered for this role. You will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team. Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
