SMART Education recruits into Teaching Jobs in Birmingham and across the West Midlands, and into Home Tutor jobs across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
Upholding policies and procedures related to Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Data Protection, Safeguarding, and Child Protection.


Attending relevant safeguarding training, both internal and external, and keeping up-to-date with local and national publications to ensure a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding practices.

Delivering tailored lessons to students off-site, including their homes.


Additional Duties:
Communicating with parents/guardians to address areas of concern or any issues requiring attention.

Staying up-to-date with the current curriculum and the latest teaching trends.

Reading and contributing to EHCP targets.

Researching and developing resources aligned with students' needs and capabilities.


Further Expectations:
Supporting colleagues and actively collaborating as part of a team to benefit the students' interests.


Liaising with specialist agencies, businesses, colleges, and other relevant organizations to secure additional opportunities for young people, facilitating their progress, development, and expanded experiences.


Additional Requirements:
Fulfilling team teach requirements and ensuring a proportionate approach to restraints if necessary.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records pertaining to all students.


Other Duties Include:
Preparing for and attending meetings with parents, professionals, staff, management committees, and other relevant individuals as required.


Qualifications and Skills:
Undertaking personal professional development and training as appropriate.

  • Experience working with young people who have special educational needs and challenging behaviour in an educational/vocational setting.
  • Knowledge of a vocational curriculum.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a natural ability to connect with young people.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Adopting a firm and friendly approach when interacting with young people.
  • Demonstrating an interest in various aspects of the school curriculum and actively contributing to their development.
  • Strong administrative skills, including proficient use of information and communication technology (ICT).
  • Excellent organizational skills to effectively plan and adapt learning to meet students' personalized needs.
  • Thorough understanding of safeguarding and equal opportunities principles.


Additionally, a full clean driving license, relevant business insurance, and access to a personal vehicle are essential for this role.


Qualifications Required:6+ Months minimum experience. Level 3 or above

£13.62 p/h (+ fuel)
