We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a _Senior Cyber Security Specialist _within our _Security Operations _team.

The Role:


The Phoenix Group are looking for passionate and creative people to join our Cyber Security team within the Security Operations Centre.

The Security Operations Centre is the first line of defence, protecting the assets and critical services of the Phoenix Group.

As a Senior Cyber Security Specialist, you will be responsible for proactive detection and response to threats, liaising with stakeholders, internal SMEs and third parties.

Additionally, you will work with SMEs to maintain and develop the group security platform.


Working within the wider Cyber Security function this role will require working closely with the Cyber Threat Team to improve our security posture through a red and purple team structure.


  • As part of the team, you'll be expected to: _
  • Manage continuous threat detection and response services, maintaining tooling, playbooks, and documentation.
  • Undertake CSIP activities to maintainand improve our security posture with relevant tooling, technology, and process documentation.
  • Support the development, implementation, and delivery of security services across on premise and multicloud environments.
  • Work with Security Architecture to develop and design new capabilities.
  • Support project teams to implement and deliver new capabilities.
  • Support the ongoing vulnerability management programme.
  • Provide MI and reporting where required.
  • Operate and maintain the IT control framework to supporting regulatory and thirdparty assurances.
  • Provide audit response to internal and external audit, taking ownership and supporting the delivery of remediation activities.

What are we looking for?
Essential

  • Five years previous experience working within IT Security, a SOC environment, or other role aligned to Cyber Security.
  • Strong technical skill set across a varying technology stack including on premise and cloud environments across a mixed mode of Windows, and Linux platforms.
  • Experience of working with operational security tooling such as SIEM, EDR, and supporting technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of the external regulatory environment
Desirable

  • Demonstrable experience of cloud environments with accredited certification.
  • Relevant professional certifications
  • Evidence of ongoing professional training and development.
