    What will you be doing?

    As a Manufacturing Engineer you will join our Edinburgh team to support our activities within the UK.

    Your main responsibilities will be:

    • Lead and execute Manufacturing transformation projects in alignment with SMART Factory, Industry 4.0, and Industry 5.0 principles.
    • Collaborate closely with the customer's teams to assess current manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategic plans for implementation.
    • Drive the integration of advanced technologies such as IoT, automation, data analytics, and AI/ML to optimise production workflows and enhance operational performance.
    • Design and implement innovative solutions to streamline manufacturing operations, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
    • Conduct thorough analyses of manufacturing data to identify trends, root causes of inefficiencies, and opportunities for process optimisation.
    • Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on best practices for SMART Factory implementation and manufacturing process improvement.
    • Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on new technologies, processes, and methodologies related to Manufacturing transformation.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and IT to ensure seamless integration of SMART Factory initiatives with existing systems and processes.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Manufacturing transformation, and proactively recommend innovative solutions to address evolving business needs.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and safety protocols throughout the Manufacturing transformation process.

    Qualifications

    Experience, skills and qualifications required:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing process improvement, preferably within the context of SMART Factory initiatives.
    • In-depth knowledge of SMART Factory concepts, Industry 4.0, and Industry 5.0 technologies.
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies for process optimisation.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
    • Willingness to work on-site in Edinburgh, UK, five days a week.
