If you are interested in an important and challenging role within the NHS then we are currently looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Medical Secretary to join our expanding Cardiology team.
We are looking for someone who is able to work accurately and methodically to provide admin/secretarial support to our consultants, assist with processing referrals, assist patients with their enquiries and their treatment pathway within the department, processing incoming post into the department, who can meet deadlines, show attention to detail, work as part of a team but use their own initiative, be able to work with all types of people and be helpful and reassuring when dealing with colleagues or patients.
You will need to be flexible and proactive, able to respond and adapt to the varying demands and changing circumstances of a busy Cardiology service.
Resilience is an important quality to succeed in this role as is the ability to plan and organise workloads in response to the new and competing priorities of the service.
The role is busy and varied and includes:
Providing full secretarial/admin support to our consultants
Filing of correspondence and test results
Clinic Management
Assisting with referrals
Manage patient referral to treatment pathways
Maintain & update patient information on database
Processing clinical correspondence
Working on tasks set by the management team
Dealing with telephone and written enquiries promptly
General administration duties such as faxing, photocopying and mailing letters
