The post holder will be responsible for strategic and operational management for the Capital Projects team.


As part of a dynamic estates team operating within the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust you will provide day-to-day leadership, line management responsibilities, project management and co-ordination of a number of complex and high-level projects which will impact across the Trust.

To ensure that our services, practices and resources are effectively applied in order to help deliver the projects within timescale and to budget.


The post-holder will use project management methodology and be responsible for liaising with a range of service leads (both clinical and non-clinical), staff, service users and external stakeholders, in order to ensure full engagement and success of all Capital Projects.


Responsible for compiling business plan, developing strategy for area of activity, ensuring implementation and that performance targets, strategic objectives are met; contributes to corporate policies and strategy.


Work with the site Capital Project teams across all three sites to deliver major and minor projects across the Trusts estate and future developments.

Manage and monitor, using complex programme management methodology for reporting on performance, risks, issues, timing, quality and benefits realisation, and ensure the programme is reported through the appropriate governance framework.

Monthly reports with accuracy on time, quality and cost.
Advise the Head of Capital Projects on issues relating to capital project delivery by way of exception reporting. Immediate escalation in respect of change to cost plan, budget, CFF, Timelines of delivery completion.

Ensure a comprehensive Risk Management Strategy is adopted for every project within their remit which deals with the complexity and potential impact on the programme.


Ensure projects are planned and executed with due care and consideration to maintaining the health, wellbeing and safety of those involved in the delivery of projects, ensuring compliance to statutory regulation.

Analyse highly complex facts, interpret and use as the basis for the formulation of Capital development options. Analyse performance of the Capital team in relation to performance against capital targets and strategic objectives. Advice in areas where expert opinion differs.
