Description

Ontic, an aerospace industry leading provider of 'Extended Life Solutions' for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy and non-core products, has an opportunity for an experienced NDT Technician Level 2 to join our team based at our office in Staverton, Gloucestershire to support our continued success and ambitious growth plans. This is a new role to the business and will play an integral part in supporting our most recent licence adoption.

What will you be doing?

You'll be responsible for conducting both Fluorescent Dye Penetrant and Magnetic Particle inspection on various parts and components as required. You will review Component Maintenance Manuals and develop appropriate NDT Instructions to support this capability. You'll process parts in accordance with CMM requirements, interpret, evaluate and report results. There will also be a requirement to set-up, calibrate and perform process control checks on equipment as detailed in procedures, recording the results whilst maintaining calibration records.

What skills and knowledge will you have?

You'll need to hold or have held EN4179/NAS410 Level 2 approval in FPI/MPI and PCN Aerospace Level 2 approval in FPI/MPI. Previous experience with both Fluorescent Dye Penetrant, Magnetic Particle Inspection is essential for this role. Ideally you'll have completed an Engineering Apprenticeship or qualified by experience and able to read component maintenance manuals, drawings, engineering layout information and additions. You'll also be able to use a wide and varied range of precision measuring equipment.
