This vacancy is for a personal assistant to join our client's support package to support them in their own home. We will be your legal employer on behalf of the client and you will not be asked to support other clients. Fullor part-time hours are available, including night shifts. To be discussed atthe interview stage. I am a young woman with learning disabilities and complex health needswho is looking for personal assistants who can assist me to live independentlyat home with my parents.
When I am well, I am very sociable and enjoy going to cafés, the cinema,museums, shows and hanging out with friends. I like to be out and about and touse my tricycle on the seafront and in the park. When I am not well, I enjoybeing read stories, watching DVDs and appreciate companionship and someone tomake sure I am as comfortable as possible.
You will be required to undertake duties such as assisting with personalcare, meds admin, moving & handling with and without a hoist, supporting meduring prolonged myoclonus (shaking) episodes, first aid and lighthousework/ will also berequired to support me with my communication programme (PODD), for whichtraining will be given.
We are looking for a personal assistant who is respectful, fun, wellorganized and is able to adapt to make the best of every day, whether ourclient is well or not well.Experienceof working with people with learning disabilities is a must. You will need tobe caring and compassionate but also resilient and able to use your initiative.
