We are looking for a Facilities Management Officer to work in the Facilities Management (FM) team providing facility services and compliance checks in a wide variety of Corporate Council buildings such as Community Centres, Theatre and College etc.


About the role


You will be mobile working across the borough of Reading and will be working in the non-static Facilities Management team.

This role would be ideally suited to someone with experience of carrying out basic compliance checks in a fast-paced environment with great customer care attributes and an eye for detail or someone who would like to broaden their skill base into something different.

This is an exciting and varied role in a fast-paced environment.


Your main duties will include:

  • To be responsible for undertaking compliance checks across the corporate estate including legionella, safety and fire checks
  • To carry out minor repairs in our corporate properties
  • Meet contractor on site to provide access and facilitate specialist repairs are carried out safely.
  • To provide First aid to all users of the site both RBC staff and public.
  • To ensure sites rare in good condition reporting jobs onto our repairs system and completing tasks such as key management, tidy up internal or external, meeting of hirers and other tasks to ensure buildings are in a safe and pristine condition.

About you

  • Experience of working with the public
  • Excellent customer care
  • You will have basic DIY knowledge and skills.
  • An appreciation of the importance of Health & Safety and experience of carrying out statutory compliance tasks in corporate buildings
  • Experience of undertaking basic repairs and maintenance work.
  • Ability to be flexible and work from different sites and have a clean driving licence.
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends both within contract and as overtime.
  • Ability to undertake manual work.
  • Commitment to further training as required.
