    Speech and Language Teaching Assistant

    Full time and Part time - Daily supply and long term roles

The focus is on providing personalized attention and support to children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), ensuring they receive the necessary assistance.     Job Description:

    We are searching for caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team of supply SEN Teaching Assistants. The ideal candidate will work closely with children who require support in speech, language, and communication, contributing to enhancing their learning journey. Collaboration with teachers, speech therapists, and other professionals is essential to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and promote effective communication in the classroom.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SLCN.
    • Assist in implementing IEPs and tailored educational programs.
    • Collaborate with teachers to adapt classroom materials and activities for students with SLCN.
    • Support students in improving their communication skills through various methods.
    • Monitor and document student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents.
    • Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment.
    • Participate in training and professional development sessions as needed.

    Requirements:

    • Prior experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly in SLCN.
    • Relevant qualification in education, childcare, or related field preferred.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs.
    • Ability to work well within a team.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students.
