As the Head of Pensions you will manage and lead the delivery of the pension work programme within the pensions and reward team.
Our pension work programme focusses on advising The Scheme Manager on the suitability and impact of proposed policy changes to the NHS Pension Scheme.
In providing this advice you will represent the view of employers in the NHS.You will manage the work programme for the NHS Pension Scheme Advisory Board and the associated Technical Advisory Group ensuring compliance with the agreed terms of reference.
You will contribute to national discussions on pension reform and help employers communicate and implement changes in policy.You will oversee the development of a comprehensive range of resources for employers on issues relating to pensions and reward and help them to develop and communicate their approach.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Employment Relations and Reward and working closely with the Head of Reward and other members of the team, the post holder will establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders including trade union representatives, employers, advisers, NHS England and our commissioners at the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).
You will be required to undertake specialist research, provide expert advice, directly support the development of policy, and deliver activities that directly support the achievement of programme objectives.
This will involve working closely with NHS organisations to support them in developing their response to changes in pension policy.
The post holder will proactively represent the interests of NHS Employers on issues related to the programmes and support the implementation of changes in policy.
