Why this role is important to us

The Senior Product Developer will be a senior member of the EMEA Product team supporting the EMEA and APAC Institutional businesses at SSGA to research, design and build new investment strategies and pooled funds across SSGA's range of investment capabilities,with a particular focus on ESG.

The EMEA Product team is a part of SSGA's Global Product team, supporting the Global Institutional Group and Global Investment team to research, design and deliver innovate products and solutions to SSGA's clients across assetclasses and investment styles.

Given the current regulatory landscape and client demand, there will be a considerable focus on delivering SSGA's existing ESG investing capabilities as well as partnering with business and investment partners to evolve the ESGproduct set.

The Senior Product Developer will collaborate with colleagues in the Global investment teams, portfolio strategists, client / consultant facing teams and the broader Global Product team to drive our new product agenda.


What you will be responsible for
As Senior Product Developer you will

  • Develop and design new investment strategies and funds across SSGA's global investment teams for the EMEA and APAC Institutional and Intermediary markets, taking into account SSGA's overall strategy and business priorities.
  • Develop, support and execute on SSGA's EMEA ESG product roadmap and provide insights to the global product roadmap.
  • Execute the product strategy, develop business cases, design product features and coordinate launches. Work crossfunctionally to develop and position the firm's EMEA product range.
  • Analyse market research and understand the competitive marketplace to identify trends and potential new product opportunities.
  • Understand the needs of SSGA's clients and prospects, the opportunities in the market and how best to respond to both of these with SSGA's investment capabilities.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle of the existing range of funds; analyse and where appropriate adjust pricing, positioning and operating models to ensure they remain marketleading products; merge or close products if needed.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with the Global Product team, key internal and external business partners.
  • Participate in the implementation of EU / UK regulation impacting SSGA's EMEA product range.
  • Maintain the highest possible fiduciary standards.
  • Contribute to and produce key management reports, in support of a strong governance process and to ensure accountability for the Product team.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:


  • 10+ years of product experience in the asset management industry
  • Indepth knowledge of the European regulatory landscape in relation to asset management and funds including MiFID, UCITS, AIFMD, BMR, and equivalent UK regulation
  • Knowledge in ESG including investments, the regulatory environment and client demand
  • Experience across the elements of the product development process: research, strategy, structuring, launch coordination and product lifecycle management
  • Manage complex projects with stakeholders across multiple teams and geographies
  • Strong capabilities in researching and analysing market trends and intelligence to support product strategy and design including experience in using third party databases.
  • Ability to problem solve and identify / analyse issues, find viable alternatives and recommend solutions
  • Highly effective relationshipbuilding with strong collaborative skills across all levels and teams within a global business
  • Ability to be persuasive and articulate in presenting complex ideas and issues to teams across the business in a clear and succinct way.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
