2Fawcett recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant to Join a Innovative and growing manufacturing company based in Ecclesfield.

Duties will include:

Work through the purchase recommendations using the MRP system in a timely and accurate manner.

Raise and amend purchase orders as required by MRP / Excel spreadsheet.

Update and maintain raw material and packaging pricing, pro-actively benchmarking pricing with suppliers and challenging costs.

Continuously monitor order updates and communicate any delays within the supply chain which may affect production.

Assist the Purchasing Manager to identify and implement cost saving initiatives.


Update and maintain Sage system in such areas as supplier details, product groups, lead times and bills of materials to ensure purchasing accuracy.

Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues

Monitor and manage stockholding levels both in-house and within external storage.

Assist the NPD team with new product development costings.

Build and develop strong supplier relationships with both existing and new suppliers.

Assist the Purchasing Manager or other members of the Supply Chain team with project work.

Assist with any other ad hoc duties as required.

About you:

Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail

Previous purchasing experience

Experience with Sage 200 or other manufacturing systems and Microsoft Office Packages.

Effective communication skills

Experience in a fast-paced role

A strong focus on teamwork and problem solving

The ability to interpret reports

The ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders across the business

Experience within a manufacturing environment is preferable.
