My client, a leading London University now has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant People Partner to join their People Partnering team on a permanent basis.

Please note this role offer hybrid flexible working with at least 2 days per week working from the central London offices.


As Assistant People Partner in this newly created role, you will work closely with the People Partners to form a trusted advisory team for their client groups, supporting the provision of strategic and tactical people consulting advice, support and guidance on the full range of people issues.

You'll play a key role in providing HR support to a range of stakeholders across central professional service directorates, working alongside the People Partners to implement people initiatives, provide advice and guidance on HR matters to stakeholders and support on cross team initiatives and projects.


As Assistant People Partner your role will include:

  • Supporting the People Partners with HR related project work including workforce planning, talent and succession, reward and recognition, learning and development and diversity and inclusion.
  • Supporting processes around organisational change, organisational restructuring and TUPE.
  • Assisting in the resolution of more complex queries which are escalated from the HR Operations team.
  • Analysing reports and data to identify trends and working with the People Partners to identify initiatives or strategies to address issues,
  • Supporting with the development and delivery of training to improve management capability.

To be considered you will require:

  • A recognised professional certification (CIPD or equivalent) or demonstrable equivalent skills and experience.
  • Experience of supporting or managing a broad range of people issues, from employee relations to organisational design.
  • Experience of working with and providing guidance and advice to senior managers.
  • Knowledge of HR best practice and employment law and a commitment to developing professional knowledge.
  • Experience of working in a large, complex and unionised environment, ideally within the education sector or public sector.
