I am currently recruiting for a Technology Rollout Assistant for Leicestershire Police. This is a temporary ongoing position to work out of their Police Headquarters.Working hours will be
Monday to Thursday - 8:30am to 5pm and Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
To conduct a force wide rollout of ICT technology to Operational Officers and Police Staff.
The primary role will be deployment of Replacement Hardware, Windows 10 operating system and Office 365 solutions as part of an upgrade programme.
PLEASE NOTE DUE TO HAVING TO UNDERGO POLICE VETTING YOU MUST HAVE RESIDED WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST 3 YEARSResponsibilities:
Technical
- Have a sound understanding of ICT Devices Technology
- Rollout Devices to Operational Staff, providing supporting usage documentation alongside this.
- Ordering of ancillary and spare equipment as and when required to support the rollout process.
- Document procedures and assistance to enable endusers to support and exploit equipment and systems with minimum technical knowledge.
- Provide management reports covering rollout progress
- Maintain asset management and configuration records in an accurate manner.
- Configure equipment and systems to ensure its performance is in line with operational and support requirements.
- Ensure that prescribed security methods and protocols are adhered to.
- To undertake work within defined timescales. Ensuring Health and Safety policies and procedures, appropriate to the task, are followed.
- Ensure that all systems and services are introduced and supported in accordance with the Information Security Policy of the Force.
- To work unsupervised at locations as appropriate to the rollout programme across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland
Criteria
Essential
- Possess GCSE Mathematics and English grade C or above, or equivalent
- Have experience in a support role including liaison with suppliers and users.
- Been responsible for configuration, deployment and maintenance of technical equipment including asset management.
- Possess the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team using initiative and be creative when required.
- Ability to document clear and userfriendly instructions
- Ability to follow a technical procedure in a methodical manner showing accuracy and detail.
- Is I.T. experienced and literate, particularly with word processing, spreadsheet and database packages.
- Hold a current driving licence.
- Possess appropriate technical qualification(s).
- Use and familiarity with the type of equipment the Force is using.
- Ability to convey technical aspects to nontechnical users in an understandable and concise way.
