    The Education Safeguarding Lead Role is part of the Access and Support for Vulnerable Children Service within the Children and Families Directorate in Stoke-on-Trent.

    This is a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people within Education in Stoke-on- Trent.

    The Education Safeguarding Lead Officer role holds a substantial citywide responsibility and will perform a proactive, strategic leadership function and will drive the delivery of high-quality safeguarding and quality assurance services to a range of education settings across the city, providing advice and guidance to a range of colleagues in education, learning services and social care.

    The role also includes developing city-wide policies and procedures, delivering training sessions, mentorship and establishing effective working relationships with Head Teachers and senior school leaders providing a relevant level of challenge and support.

    The successful applicant will hold a special set of leadership skills including a calm and considered approach, will display high levels of professional resilience and emotional literacy and excellent communication skills and will understand the value of listening when providing support to schools.
