Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a very special company who manufacture bespoke medical equipment for children. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Logistics Supervisor to join their friendly and professional team.


You will report directly to the Head of Operations and ensure the effective and efficient logistic function for the entire business by coordinating dispatch to our UK and export customers.

This is a leadership role, and you will need to steer your team through a period of change, organise, train where needed and inspire them to meet challenges within the department.

You should thrive on challenge, and change, and be able to identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Lead and inspire the despatch teams, providing guidance, support and development
  • Conduct regular 1:1's and appraisals with team members
  • Promote efficient working methods, highlighting and inefficiency and conducting root cause analysis
  • Manage and organise team workload to ensure output is maximised in with the production plan, suggesting and implementing recovery measures where required.
  • Monitor the teams performance vs KPIS, regulary feeding back to the team on performance and also on senior colleagues on any barriers to achievement with proposed solutions.
  • Provide and present updates on KPI performance, work progress and forward plans.
  • Managing holiday planning within the area, ensuring sufficient holiday coverage for any period of absence.
  • Assist the production management team in planning, reporting and departmental projects as required.
  • Conduct cyclical stock couts on products and other consumable materials, highlighting any known issues beforehand.
  • Set example to the team regarding H&S and Quality standards, assisting with driving 'rightfirsttime' approach throughout.
  • Monitor attendance level within the team and prevent well being.
  • Recruitment of new member sof the team.

Key requirements:

  • Previous recent experience in a similar role and leading teams is essential. You will bring sound logistics process knowledge an best practice to our team.
  • You will be a fair and consistent leader who empowers others to be their best and lead a highperforming team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Abiity to motivate and lead.
  • The ability to manage your workload and prioritise for yourself and your team.
  • Experience in Warehouse management (goods in/out) and product assembly processes.
  • A hands on practical approach to equipment use and maintainence.
  • Planning, organisational and planning skills.
  • Experience in change management and implementing efficiency improvements would be desirable.
