The challenge

As the engine at the heart of our McLaren Shadow social media team, you will lead on the monthly planning and publishing of content across all McLaren Shadow social media channels which is the gaming and esports sub brand to McLaren Racing.

This role will work within the Gaming and esports department to ensure it activates all partnerships through a content and social lens while leveraging every opportunity to drive audience growth and engage the community.

Your team

This role will report into the Specialist gaming and content and sit within a five person Gaming and esports team.

The role will be located in Woking, UK at McLaren's global headquarters while offering hybrid working options with 3 x days per week in the office.

There will be a requirement for nontraditional hours and travel roughly 30% of the time.

Your responsibilities

Social media and content creation
Leading on the publishing of organic, boosted, and paid content across all social media channels in line with McLaren's overarching social media strategy, adhering to the minimum required output set by the Specialist.
Deliver monthly social media plans, while clearly communicating plans every day to stakeholders at all levels, including the coordination of social media content meetings.
Handson creation of content for social channels across all platforms including but not limited to Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and YouTube.
Support the delivery of social media content on key F1 esports weekends.
Enforce social media community guidelines and lead on proactive social media community management.
Deputise for and support the broader social media team whenever possible across all other race series.
Enforce and maintain McLaren's tone of voice across all channels.
Manage the execution of branded content campaigns across McLaren Shadow's social channels in line with partner contractual rights.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to leverage the scale and reach of other Racing series channels to driver Shadow audience.
Support in driving signups to McLaren Plus, the McLaren App and traffic to the McLaren Store.

Your story

23 years' experience. Ideally a producer, agency account manager, marketing exec or somebody who has experience in the games, marketing, esports or sports industry
Understand the importance of partnership marketing and partners with how to manage them, deliver against contracts, etc.
A keen gamer with an interest in esports. You don't need to be a racer but you do need to love games and 'get' gamers.
Highly organised project manager whose able to prioritise workload, understand wider objectives but still have strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, and eye for detail consistent with the McLaren brand ethos.
Excellent social media skills and a keen interest in emerging channels and technologies
Presentation skills (both writing and delivery), internally and to partners / suppliers
Creative thinker and executioner
Collaborative and likes working within a team
Selfmotivated
