Nurse Assessor - (Fully Home-based) - Back Office

Starting Salary - £35,000- £36,000 upon completion of training and £37,000 at 1 year service (performance related)

Alongside the above - (+ Bi-Annual 10% incentive bonus - £3,500)**Virtual Training Completed - They have a completely remote on-boarding / training process.


We are recruiting Registered Nurses (RGN, RMN or RNLD), Paramedics, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to join our leading team of Disability Assessors within the Back Office Team; having the fantastic opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home**This role is fully recognised by the NMC / HCPC as clinical; so, no further hours will be required to maintain your pin

Overview to Job:

Typically, the back-office team carries out the initial reviews of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) cases as they arrive with us from DWP, selecting the most appropriate routing of PIP cases.

That might mean being able to carry out an assessment on paperif there is enough evidence to do so, or if there is need to see have a full in-depth assessment with a front office team member.


  • You may be asked for advice directly back from DWP Case Managers if new evidence is received after a report has been completed and they would like a case rereviewed
  • You will be analysing and interpreting clinical information and medical evidence, using this material to write a concise report to a professional standard this report is then used as the basis for DWP to make decisions on whether a person does or doesnot receive PIP.
  • You will work to productivity and quality standards in line with DWP requirements.
  • You be required to liaise with medical teams involved with a person's care when necessary e.g. GPs, CPNs, Specialist Nurses, Social Care teams as well as family members or friends of Claimants who can give me valuable insight
  • You will also undertake ad hoc responsibilities related to service delivery or performance management

Essential Person Specification:


  • Postqualification experience in one of the following occupations: Nurse, Physiotherapist, Paramedic, Occupational Therapist.
  • Have an active registration with NMC/HCPC with no restrictions on practice.
  • No previous Disability Assessor experience is required as training is provided. However, it is essential that any applicant is either a qualified Nurse, Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist.
  • Appropriate workspace within the home setting that allows you to successfully complete your role
