Description

You will be mentored by one of our senior engineers and work with engineering teams on anything from small, fast-paced scopes to larger, major energy projects.


You could be involved in UK-based projects in the North Sea and Irish Sea, or providing support to one of our global projects in the Americas, Africa, Mediterranean or Europe.


You may also work on some world leading onshore energy transportation projects, including traditional oil and gas, carbon dioxide (CO2) and now hydrogen.

There are also opportunities to support offshore renewables projects including both fixed wind and floating wind.

  • You may be required to contribute to engineering solutions such as concept engineering or design work in accordance with industry codes and standards.
  • You may conduct engineering analysis, extract and process engineering data.
  • You may help to prepare engineering proposals, studies, technical reports, equipment specifications, or drawings.
  • You may have to understand the project brief and the tools and resources that are available to provide solutions.
  • You may have the opportunity to learn to use advanced engineering software for pipeline routing, stress analysis, and hydraulic analysis depending on your discipline and interests.

Expected:


  • Applicants should have a keen interest in subsea energy technologies.
  • A strong desire to actively learn, innovate and problem solve as part of a team.
  • Applicants should be working towards a good honours degree in one of the following disciplines.
  • Civil engineering
  • Electrical engineering
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Structural engineering
  • Subsea engineering
  • Other engineering disciplines may be considered.
  • Applicants will have completed at least one year of fulltime education in an engineering discipline.
  • Strong problem solving & analytical ability.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills. Effective time management skills.

Desirable:


  • Digital knowledge.
  • Experience with software applicable to their discipline (eg finite element analysis).
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to be responsive and open to changing circumstances.
  • Experience in ownership and delivery of workscopes, such as a university, community or charity project.
