    We are currently partnered with a leading UK firm of chartered financial planners and employee benefits consultants specialising in financial planning including pensions, investments, tax planning, mortgages and protection for individual and corporate clients.

    Our client is seeking an Associate Consultant to join their specialist team who provide consultancy services to corporate clients, many of whom are in the independent schools sector.

    You will be part of the team providing guidance on pension scheme governance, scheme design, scheme renewal, member presentations and member options for specialist pensions, specifically the Teachers' Pension Scheme.

    You will work closely with regulated financial planners as part of your development with the long-term aim to move into a regulated consultant's role once fully qualified and authorised.

    Some of your key responsibilities include:

    • Providing information and guidance on workplace pensions and benefits
    • Support the on-going and future needs and objectives of clients, ensuring consistent delivery of outstanding service.
    • Develop effective internal and external relationships to assist in providing an efficient professional service to clients in line with service agreements
    • Help to achieve and exceed revenue targets
    • Proactively identify new business opportunities
    • Draw up fee proposals and negotiate on services – subject to the fee pricing structure and approval protocols in force.
    • Assistance in the preparation of detailed tenders, power point presentations and spreadsheets while in liaison with the support team.

    About you:

    • You will have some experience and knowledge of how DC Pensions work.
    • You should have a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent to QCF Level 4.
    • You will have current technical knowledge of the financial planning and employee benefit consultancy process through appropriate industry exams and CPD, including products, funds, pensions, markets, appropriate financial instruments, the required regulatory standards and their relevance to clients.
    • You will have a good working knowledge of recent key developments, industry/market changes and regulations.
