    Assistant Accountant

    An exciting career opportunity has arisen within Lancashire County Council's Financial Management Operational Service, for an Assistant Accountant.

    The Service is responsible for the production and monitoring of the County Council's revenue budget in addition to undertaking a key role in the closure of Council's accounts. The team provide financial advice, support and guidance to Budget Holders, Senior Managers and Members to enable effective decision-making whilst contributing in the completion of various statutory financial returns and ensuring that the integrity of core financial information is maintained. This team is vital in ensuring that budgets are accounted for within the appropriate accounting standards and controls are in place to make sure the County Council operates within required financial regulations and the scheme of delegation.

    About the role:

    The Assistant Accountant (Grade 7) post will provide support across the team, particularly working closely with Accountants, but will also act as finance contact for Budget Holders and will be responsible for budget monitoring, providing financial advice and guidance whilst contributing to cross cutting areas such as accounts closure, budget savings monitoring and supporting their service area with projects and development.
