The Royal Town Planning Institute champions the power of planning in creating socially inclusive, economically and environmentally sustainable places for communities.

We represent over 27,000 members worldwide, supporting them throughout their careers.

We shape planning policy, raise professional standards and are the only body in the UK to confer Chartered status to planners, the highest professional qualification.

We are looking for a Regional Co-ordinator to support the volunteer committee in the delivery of our corporate strategy. This role operates as the hub in the region for all member activity and communications.

A key function is to support and expand our membership base by managing regional events and facilitating the delivery of activities on their behalf.

You will manage both CPD programmes and social events, providing networking and membership development opportunities. Excellent communication skills are essential to the role as is familiarity with marketing and events platforms.

This is a stand-alone role in the Yorkshire region and involves working with volunteer committees, members, stakeholders and partners. Team working with colleagues in other regions and liaison with staff across the Institute is also essential. Most of the work is done within the region and the role is home based.

You will have event management experience and strong IT skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage your workload in a pressurised environment.

A strong customer focus is essential, as is the ability to influence others, as the success of this role is heavily dependent on our volunteer members' who are a key part of the Institute.

An interest in planning or the built environment would be an advantage, as would a qualification in event marketing.

RTPI has a positive, supportive and inclusive work environment which actively operates a policy of helping its employees at all levels to achieve professional growth.

We seek to foster a collaborative and respectful work environment which promotes equality, diversity and inclusion.
