The Amcare Group, a subsidiary of Convatec, is a dedicated provider of patient support services to the stoma and continence community and who have built a 30 year reputation based on the delivery of the highest quality homecare services.
Amcare Group care centres are located in Cheltenham, Basingstoke, Dartford, Lincoln, Nottingham, Runcorn, South Shields and Stirling. Our National Distribution Centre is at Sunderland. These form the Amcare Group making us one of the largest dispensing appliance contractors in the UK
This position is responsible for the management and operation of the Amcare Site Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) systems, processes and documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation ConvaTec EHS strategy within the Amcare sites, ensuring that all legal and corporate requirements are met.
- Ensure the safety of ConvaTec employees, visitors, and contractors at Amcare sites, and that all procedures and policies are of the highest standard in line with industry best practice.
- Support the development and implementation of Amcare EHS Policies and structured procedures and ensure that these are regularly reviewed, improved and updated where necessary to maintain effective EHS programmes across all Amcare sites
- Promote EHS Programmes, ensuring effective communication with Site Management, Facilities staff and Amcare staff.
- Maintain all Amcare site EHS management systems, procedures and documentation
- Implement ongoing improvements across all Amcare Site EHS management systems, procedures and documentation as required from site audits, inspections, legal requirement changes, corporate strategy, etc.
- Support with the management of all Amcare site EHS contracts.
- Ensure continual and ongoing Amcare Site compliance with all legal and corporate EHS requirements.
- Contribute to the creation of annual Amcare Site EHS Objectives and ensure that these are met to regularly improve site EHS performance.
- Attend and support the Amcare Site EHS Committee and Emergency response team.
- Identify and implement waste management improvement and costreduction opportunities.
- Identify, manage and deliver best in class Site EHS training programmes.
- Ensure that all EHS incidents are investigated and managed to a suitable conclusion, with a timely and appropriate audit trail.
- Ensure that all Amcare Site EHS actions are addressed and closed out in a timely manner.
- Manage all EHS audits of the Amcare site and contribute to other Amcare site audits and visits as required.
- Perform Site EHS Inductions for Visitors and Contractors, ensuring correct PPE is ordered and provided to all staff in a timely manner.
- Perform all necessary EHS monitoring for the Amcare sites.
- Perform regular EHS site inspections with site EHS Committee members and departmental managers.
- Contribute to the effective and efficient running of the Amcare sites and work frequently with the site teams to ensure highest standards are maintained.

Language Skills Required
- Speaking: Yes English
- Writing/Reading: Yes English
Education / Qualifications
Required:
- NEBOSH diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
- IOSH technical level qualification essential
Desired:
- IEMA qualification/ NEBOSH diploma in Environmental management desirable but not essential
