Are you a dynamic and dedicated teacher of Modern Foreign Languages who inspires students? Are you able to teach high quality lessons in the target language?

Fernhill School is seeking to appoint an innovative, dynamic and highly motivated teacher to take on the leadership of the Modern Foreign Languages department.

Teachers that are passionate about their subject motivate students therefore you will need to show a passion for languages and an interest in engaging all students in developing a love of your subject.

have a passion for languages which is evident in your teaching
be able to evidence success in raising student achievement across a broad range of abilities through successful assessment, monitoring and evaluation of student progress, and the range of strategies that could be used to address underachievement
demonstrate a strong desire to undertake Continuing Professional Development to inform teaching

The MFL department is made up of two members of staff, the Head of Department and a specialist Spanish teacher.

We also have both French and Spanish speaking Learning Support Assistants.

In addition, we are well respected for our teacher training and regularly have a trainee teacher of MFL as well as an Assistante to support the speaking and listening elements of languages.

We have worked hard to develop languages and now 50% of students take a language at GCSE.

In addition there is the potential to develop accreditation in languages as part of the EAL Gold Award provision at Fernhill.

The department is housed in two dedicated classrooms rooms, equipped with audio devices and interactive screens.
