    Job Title: Welding and Dimensional QC Inspector/Lead

    This client is based in a vibrant location North of Aberdeen and is actively seeking a committed and dependable Welding and Dimensional QC Inspector/Lead to become an integral part of their team and provide crucial support to the workshop operations.

    About the Role:

    • Conduct pre-weld visual fit-up and post-weld inspections for accuracy and compliance.
    • Identify re-work or repairs as needed and maintain detailed documentation.
    • Collaborate closely with a small quality team, assisting in training new QC personnel and reporting directly to the QA/QC Manager.
    • Offer expertise in welding procedures and work scopes and provide guidance to the production team on Quality matters.
    • Participate in workshop-based inspections primarily focusing on welding processes and standards.
    • Attend daily Production Meetings, offering valuable input from the Quality Team perspective.
    • Review supplier material Certificates to ensure alignment with specified requirements and Standards.
    • Handle Quality-related communications with Customers and their Representatives professionally.
    • Coordinate with project teams on technical work packages and participate in project kick-off meetings in the absence of the Quality Manager.
    • Facilitate Quality-related interactions with external organizations for inspections, ensuring adherence to company policies.
    • Ensure all onsite/offsite quality activities meet relevant codes and standards, providing necessary guidance to the Quality team.
    • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to organize and schedule QA/QC Activities and third-party inspections efficiently.
    • Assist project teams in procuring specific supplies for ongoing projects as needed.
    • Support the Hire Division with inspection tasks when required.
    • Stay informed about Client requirements and assist in compiling Quality Documentation packages tailored to their needs.
    • Participate in coordinating non-destructive testing (NDT) activities and maintain accurate records related to inspections.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Proficient in interpreting complex engineering drawings.
    • Minimum certification to CSWIP 3.0 level.
    • Extensive background in fabrication and welding (at least City and Guilds Fabrication and Welding qualification or equivalent).
    • Familiarity with various welding processes and structural materials.
    • Knowledge of non-destructive testing methods.
