Customer Liaison Officer - Environment

Thames Water (Greater London & Surrounding Areas)

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Customer Liaison Officer to join the team at Galliford Try.


You will work on our Thames Frameworks within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes.


Ideally, you will be based in or around the London area within the Thames Water region and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.


As Customer Liaison Officer, it will be your responsibility to plan and implement a co-ordinated programme of communications to strategic stakeholders, to support the efficient delivery of projects in Galliford Try's AMP 7 programme of work with Thames Water, in line with Thames Water's Project Communications Best Practice Guidelines.


Day-to-day, you will support the project delivery teams in all aspects of customer management; monitoring and auditing all customer care processes and procedures and to manage the interface on customer care issues between Thames Water, Galliford Try and the stakeholder.


You'll be formulating communication strategies for the efficient delivery of projects including setting objectives; measures of evaluation; tone; positioning; formulation of key messages; stakeholder identification and engagement and the most effective channels to use to achieve optimum impact.


You will provide support to the Senior Project Managers by ensuring Pre Works forms, Bulletin Board forms, Customer Impact Assessments (CIAs) and Customer Communications Plans (CCPs) are in place at project start up and reviewed before every Stage Gate.


You will play a pivotal role in stakeholder engagement, assisting the Stakeholder Engagement Manager in producing Galliford Try corporate literature, presentations, internet updates, Yammer and newsletters as well as taking responsibility for organising, attending, and hosting events such as Public Open Evenings/ Presentations and School visits.


It will be your role will be to work in liaison with Thames Water's Project Communications Experience Coordinators to provide a co-ordinated support to delivery teams; ensuring that the mutual reputations of both Galliford Try and Thames Water are managed effectively.


About You:


Alongside your proven experience in customer management and excellent people and influencing skills, we're seeking individuals with strong negotiation skills and well developed writing skills as well as being fully conversant in the use of standard software packages.

We'd like you to be located within the Thames Water region.

Access to your own transport is desirable due to the remote location of some of our sites, which are not accessible by public transport.

Experience in a national and multi-site business, customer-facing role or Water Industry experience is desirable, but not essential.
