    The new state of the art primary school in Calderwood, East Calder provides non-denominational education for up to primary and nursery pupils and opened in August . The new school and nursery was required to cope with increasing demand in the growing Calderwood Core Development Area, which will see a significant number of new homes being built over the next ten years

    The role of the three Early Years Officers is to collegiately lead the nursery class team, in consultation with the early level Principal Teacher and Early Learning and Childcare Area Support Manager.

    The EYO will:

  • take a lead role for all organisational arrangements within the nursery
  • develop and promote high quality, innovative learning experiences which meet the needs for all children within the nursery class
  • ensure effective relationships and communication between the nursery class and home.
  • Applicants must hold an HNC in education and childcare or equivalent and be able to demonstrate breadth and depth of experience in an early years educational establishment. Must be willing to work towards BA degree in Childhood Studies or Practice and complete the SQA module in Leadership.
