    Description

    As a Data Engineer for ParentPay, you will be working within the Business Intelligence Team who are responsible for internal group wide reporting. Joining us at a time of transformation, where we move our current reporting suite from SSRS into Power BI.

    You will be responsible for the daily management and maintenance of existing data pipelines in and out of the Data Warehouse, as well as leading on the design and development of new data pipelines that will enhance the existing data capabilities of the group.

    You will be able to advise on best practice and ensure data can be trusted. You will work with Data Governance and BI Analysts to ensure the Data Warehouse provides stable and trustworthy data that can be used to create actionable insights for the business.

    Required Tech Stack / Skills:

    · SQL

    · SSIS/SSRS/SSAS

    · Power BI

    · Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R

    · Experience of working with REST API's, preferably for systems such as HubSpot, Zendesk, Dynamics and Service Now

    Experience with data modelling, data warehousing and building high volume ETL pipelines

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor the SQL Data Warehouse and BI Estate
    • Design and build Automated 'health checks' on the data
    • Re-engineer manual data flows to enable scaling and repeatable use
    • Re-engineer existing data pipelines and databases to redefine structures in line with best practice that suit Power BI
    • Design and build the very best data warehouse components
    • Design and build new data pipelines

    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

    • Degree in relevant field or 4+ years working in a data engineering role
    • Proficient in writing complex SQL queries, Linked Server queries, creating Stored Procedures, Functions and Agent Jobs
    • Advanced knowledge of SSIS for ETL design
    • Experience working with multiple data sources, able to transform, combine and aggregate data into a single repository
    • Experience of working with Zappysys (SSIS Powerpack addon) - desirable
    • Experience of working with APIs
    • Experience of working with Power BI
    • Experience of working with HubSpot and/or Dynamics - desirable
    • Experience in the schools/education marketplace (3+ years) - desirable
    • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
    • A keen eye for detail and aptitude for working with data
    • Highly accurate and thorough in all tasks
    • Exceptional organisational and presentation skills
    • Highly organised and able to prioritise tasks
    • Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mind
